Hear OTC Hearing Aid Beige

The Hear OTC Hearing Aid Beige is a dual-use device that works as an FDA-regulated Class 2 OTC hearing aid (FDA code QUG) or as a standard wireless earbud, compatible with both iOS and Android devices. It ships in a single beige colorway.

Four preset hearing modes, Loud, Restaurant, Conversation, and Quiet, adjust how the device processes incoming sound for different environments. In-ear detection automatically switches between hearing mode and streaming mode when the earbuds are inserted or removed, so the device doesn’t need to be manually toggled between uses.

Two analog MEMS microphones per earbud pick up speech and ambient sound, with built-in feedback suppression to reduce the whistling or squealing common to hearing aids. Volume can be adjusted independently for the left and right earbud, letting each ear be tuned to a different level.

The earbuds connect over Bluetooth 5.3 with SBC and AAC codec support and a 30+ foot range, handling media and phone calls in streaming mode. They work with both iOS and Android devices.

Each earbud uses a silicone ear tip, with 3 closed tips for more focused, isolated hearing and 3 vented tips for a more natural, open sound. Touch controls on the earbuds handle playback, with automatic play and pause when an earbud is removed or reinserted.

Single earbud playtime is rated at 10 hours in hearing mode or 7 hours in music mode, with the charging case extending total playtime to 40 hours in hearing mode or 26 hours in music mode. The case charges via an integrated USB-C cable in under 2 hours, and standby time is rated at 50+ hours.

The earbuds pair with the JLab Hearing Health app for full customization of hearing modes and settings.
